About Us
What is Alta?
Alta provide support for liver transplant patients and their families before, during and after transplantation. It was formed in 1991 by patients who recognised the need for a group of this sort. Transplant surgery is a unique experience and people who undergo organ transplantation share a very special bond. This bond enables them to give each other a particular kind of support and understanding. If required Alta can bring people and their families together to help them cope with personal worries, doubts and needs.
The Alta Newsletter
An ALTA newsletter is produced about 5 times each year and it is sent to all Addenbrooke's liver transplant recipients. Contact the office staff in C9 if you are not receiving yours. Copies of previous newsleters can be found in the Newsletter section of this site.
